I cant understand why, on several car lines, the unit takes as long as 5 minutes to access data stream information (engine monitors). So far Honda and GM are the worst offenders.

This Infanite unit I have routinely has program failures casuing me to re boot the unit and start all over. It will pass smart box check and remote module check, but wont access program info.

This unit will not access the DEMO program at all. it will pass smart box check than simply wont go any farther.

Is there something wrong with the head unit or is it the programming? I have the current display and data programs as well as diagnostic programs and a 512 MB memory card. I used a 128 MB card that came with the unit, absolutely no changes what so ever, same performance.

I hook this up on a Toyota or a Subaru, no problems.

Dear Vic Gregory,

Please check the performance of the same with few older versions of these softwares,

If program persists please contact your supplier with the complete Main Unit including the Multiplexing head so that they can check the same and confirm proper operations.

Regards,

I read MANY topics out here where the response typically seems to be"

"Please check the performance of the same with few older versions of these softwares"

Why do we pay all this money to buy updates that actually make our scan tools work SLOWER or less efficiently or dont work at all?

Doesnt Launch test these new programs to make sure they work on older models?

Should my mind set be that whenever I cannot get proper operation of a Launch X-431 scan tool on a car that I should just take a half hour to load an earlier version of that car line untel I find one that works good?

When this thing works, it is GREAT! Problem is that at least 70% of the time it either wont work on a particular application, or simply takes so long that I end up reaching for my partners Genisys that cost half the price. It does not do all of the things the X431 does, but it works every time! It doenst have the coverate the X-431 has, but the Generic OBD II Program works every time! The X431 OBD II generic program rarely works on either unit in our shop.

Dear Mr. Vic, Mr. Markt,

the size of the memory card that came with the X431 if seems to be smaller may pls be updated to 512MB. When the memory card is bigger OR if there is not any free space left in the smaller memory card, then the software loading time may be a bit enhanced.

But, once the program is loaded there should not be an unusual delay in communicating with the vehicle ECU. The delay in response in most cases is limited to the response time from the ECU and once the communication has been established, the functions like Read, Erase, Data Stream etc,,, should keep the normal operation time. Incase you find the refresh rate is a bit lower then please try to reduce the number of data items in the list for monitoring,

The suggestion to try a previous version in case of failed communication was only a temporary solution, further to that you can communicate your response here and we can take up the same with HQ for rectifying it in the coming updates.

If you feel that the machine's behavior away from what has been mentioned, please arrange to seek better support from the supplier,

Best Regards,
Arun
