|
|
Good Evening:
I am using an X431 Infinate with all the latest downloads and updates. For some reason, I am not able to get engine information from GM or Ford USA products using my X431
When I use the correct connector as specified by the unit, I can get into the program but when I tap on the engine function the unit simply does nothing. If I look at BCM or Chassis control functions, it will go into the program, but when I select items I want to look at I only get ??? instead of information on the screen.
Am I doing something wrong or am I having a software problem? When I hooked up to another car in the shop, A subaru, it read it with no problems and gave me all the data stream PCM values without any problems. |

Dear Gregory,
The problem could be from the software probably as you are not even getting an ERROR message displayed after you click the Engine.
Hence, please try to use some previosu version of the softwares also for testing the same.
When you mentioned by saying GM could you be more specific about the vehicle names?
Also, once you click the Engine, please observe whether is any LED flahses on the Multiplexer.
Regards,

Good Morning Thank you for your reply:
In particular, I am working with:
General Motors
Light Duty Truck
4 speed Automotic
Active 2 speed Transfer case
VIN X engine
When I load the program, it passes all connectivity and loads properly but when I attempt to gain PCM Data stream for engine there is very little communication LED Flashing.
When I attempt to gain access to BCM other modules on this save vehicle, I get a lot more communication (Flashing LED) but silll no acutal information transfer.
Forgive me for my ignorance but how would I go about trying an earlier version of the software generally speaking?
Thank you very much for your support and consideration |

Reguarding the issue previously mentioned I will add more information:
2003 Chevy S10 classic 4wheel drive, active 2 speed transfer case, VIN code X
Program loads but will not enter engine data selection screen, will enter BCM and Chassis selection screen but will not aquire actual information.
I downloaded earlier GM software (version 27.0 vs 28.1) no change in functionality or data aquasition. When in Engine Data mode, LED activity is very infrequent and does not change into data aquasition screen at all, it simply stays on menu page. It does not lock up the unit, but requires me to back out of the screen. I attempted to do every one of these tests with OBDII 16C, OBDII Smart, and CAN/BUS II connectors with no change. |
